Florida department of education Back to School reading list
The Last Egret was named to the Florida Department of Education’s Back to School reading list in 2020. It was a humbling and unexpected honor to be placed in such esteemed company as one of 25 classic works for 3rd through 5th grade reading. The short list included all-time classic children's books such as The Secret Garden, The Velveteen Rabbit, and Anne of Green Gables—numerous household names.
